Responsibilities will include negotiating with customers, scheduling pickup and delivery appointments, tracking shipments, occasional problem solving, and building rapport with customers and carriers alike. Obsessing over the customer is a must as we have built our reputation on offering superior service. This skill will serve as a necessity as you build relationships with customers and look for additional chances to move their freight. At Freight Nation, our dispatchers are the foundation of our day to day transactions. As a dispatcher, you will have visibility of the shipping process from beginning to end. With that being said, a dispatcher is tasked with scheduling all day to day shipments as well as providing rate quotes and tracking updates to our valued customers. Dispatchers are also always screening shipmets to prevent issues like re-weighs and reclasses or unecessary accessorial fees. In most cases, the level of service experienced by the customer is directly related to the quality of the dispatch team. Experience is a plus but not mandatory.
